Fog Warning, Reduced Visibility, Stay Alert

Why praytell is our society so obsessed with stating the obvious????

On my drive into work today, I encountered an over head sign that warned me it was foggy out and I needed to stay alert. Now, because the fog created reduced visibility, everyone driving to work, had to slow down, to see the warning that told us it was foggy out. Does this make sense to anyone else????

Now I know many engineers and generally, they are intelligent people. They don't usually state the obvious... well unless it is for some of our academically challenged friends who need the obvious stated for them. But still, rarely will they say, "it's sunny out, put your sunglasses on" to folks strolling along the beach. So, why oh why, do these civil engineers (probably grads of the big state school around here that pumps out idiot engineers along with a few good 'uns but everyone has the fallacy it is a top rate school... sorry ADD moment) need to tell me that it is foggy out? And, worse yet, why not brighten the intensity of the sign that warns it's foggy out in order to cut through the mist so people don't have to slow down and mess with my morning commute. Come on, this interupted my daydream about mr. muscles, the sexy boy in the gym that I'm sure is checking me out. I have yet to get the nerve to talk to him. Here's there every day, the same time I go. He has the most fabulous, yummy body. I looked at his hands yesterday, as he did ab work on the floor across from me..."oh baby come work out between my legs" (oh I digress into that day dream) and it turns out he has got to be under my age limit. DRAT!

Sigh.... where was I?? Yes, is our society so stupid that we need to be warned that fog reduces visibility? I guess so, since we all need to be warned the coffee is hot, ice is slippery and a host of other things that if you ask a Kindergardner, they could tell you. Yes, we are doomed, doomed I tell you! It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel finnnnnnnne!
