My reflections on John 4:4-22. It is about Jesus's encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. knowing some history about Samaria, Judea, gender roles and the well itself is helpful. But the basic gist is Jesus goes out of his way to talk to undesirables - kind of radical for the time. And, the reflection could be considered something the Samaritan woman would write or any of us today....
He knows me
And He loves me.
He rejoices in my triumphs
And sings with the song in my heart.
He sees the stumbling of my past
And will catch me in my future falls.
He doesn’t miss one crack in my character
But provides the glue that holds me together.
After each journey I take from Him
His open arms welcome me home.
Yes, He knows me
And He still loves me!
God's love is so perfect. It really is the ideal love. It'd be awesome to find a man who could love me like that. Maybe one day?
