He watches from above
as she wanders through the wood
He can see the whole forest
she only the trees
entangled in the undergrowth
and tripping over vines
occasionally finding the path
or another dead end?
remembering He’s there
she closes her eyes
reaches her arms to Him
it is only then He guides her
impatient with the progress
and tempted by the apple
she loses touch with Him
into the bramble she stumbles again
zagging and zigging her
way through the thicket
scratched and bleeding
never knowing the way out
as she wanders through the wood
He can see the whole forest
she only the trees
entangled in the undergrowth
and tripping over vines
occasionally finding the path
or another dead end?
remembering He’s there
she closes her eyes
reaches her arms to Him
it is only then He guides her
impatient with the progress
and tempted by the apple
she loses touch with Him
into the bramble she stumbles again
zagging and zigging her
way through the thicket
scratched and bleeding
never knowing the way out
