Problem solver vs. OCD

I've come to realize something about myself. If I come across a problem, I think about it constantly until I solve it. And, once I have a potential solution, I need to act on it right away. Even if the problem doesn't need a resolution right away. I guess I'd justify that by saying, well if that solution doens't work, I need to find another one. And, therefore, acting on it immediately is the right thing to do.

And, if I don't have a solution, the problem will just continue to swirl around my mind and fester. I try to "turn the channel" of my mind and concentrate on other things....always to have the problem come back to my mind until it is finally solved and filed away. This makes me good at my job. But, in other aspects of my life, I think it makes me a bit too much of a worrier.

Problem Solver or OCD???
